The Outpost 2.0

I know, I know. The Outpost just launched, and i'm already thinking about the next version.
Thing is, it's currently running on an off the shelf software that technically I could extend to do everything I want to.

I'm a web developer/software developer by trade so the idea of building something myself, that is mine, is very appealing to me. I have a lot of ideas about how the next incarnation of The Outpost will look and function.

Watch this space, it's not going to be a quick process but I will post updates as and when I think I have something to share!

Started this at lunchtime. Got a good solid base going of Laravel backend and React frontend via Inertia.

Got a super super basic thread list going on with a basic layout. Authentication including two factor auth all scaffolded by Laravel which gives a solid foundation.

I'll be working on it most lunchtimes, genuinely think I'll be able to replace the current solution within a couple of months.

Yesterday's jobs involved work on the current version of the Outpost. I've installed a couple of extensions to handle custom pages, and cookie consent.
These were needed as last night I set up Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
Most websites require a cookie notice, I hate the things but here we are.

Work on this has stalled slightly as I've been spending most of my lunchtimes running.

I'm training for lots of races this year, I seem to have medal fever! 😂
